Paola Pivi: I Want It All
I Want It All is Paola Pivi’s personal exhibition at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, exploring the signature flamboyance of her works across different expression media. Milano, her new soft sculpture made in collaboration with More-So, invites the visitor to enter the space between the two soft bodies of brightly-coloured, stacked mattresses. A wide but narrow opening that that creates a comfortable, yet odd and new, intimate space to crawl into.
The exhibit is populated by dozens of baby polar bear sculptures, caught in innocent human-like behaviour, while the fluorescent colours of their feathered coats make them pop out from their surroundings.
Distinctly present are 250 pairs of shoes; 2 pairs of each shoe type, one new and pristine, the other worn and showing signs of long use. Their past, their present, and the markings that separate the two offer a perspective on a life well lived.
Paola Pivi: I Want It All is on view from the 22nd of April to the 15th of August at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is organised by the chief curator at the Warhol, José Carlos Diaz.
